Dudemon-Thanks for your post it is very interesting and makes me think of a few questions. I’m a Norwood 5 too. What you say I find very intriguing and want to investigate further since I’m about to go under the knife. You indicate the transplant was a huge mistake for your hair type and...
Yes, I'm going to Dr. Shapiro for the transplant and he is one of the most respected doctors in the world. For the laser I am going to a board certified plastic surgeon who has been selected to teach other doctors how to perform this procedure. I'm still tying to get an answer as to whether...
I am going to a plastic surgeon and it is the Smart DOT Laser which is far less traumatic than pervious lasers. It only has a recovery period of about four days where you can't leave the house vs. two weeks with the old type of laser. I'm not worried about the laser procedure, what I want to...
That is exactly what I am doing. I am having a transplant next month with Dr. Shapiro for maximum density in the front on on top and will have a lace hairpiece on the crown. My stylist has several clients who have done this and says it blends perfectly and looks great.
I am having a hair transplant next month and I’m thinking about killing two birds with one stone and getting a DOT laser treatment for my face a few days later. The laser treatment would be six days after my hair transplant by a different doctor. I want to do both at this time because it is...

Gillenator,
Here is the response I got from my doctor concerning the second procedure in six months.
Let me deal with your questions, which are very relevant.
I would not be doing your procedure in 6 months if you only have 80% of your
hairs growing out. That was never my intention. The...
Oh well, I was praying those would become normal hairs! :sobbing: Someone on another forum anwered this questions this way.
Its a long process my friend you know that. They start off as baby hairs and then thicken, some have just grown quicker than others thats all. Nothing to worry about
P.S. Even with lace if the hair on the piece gets thin you WILL see the base. It is however hands down the most natural look when applied with glue. It blends in with the skin where the glue is.
I am at the four and a half month mark of my hair transplant and I noticed this morning a lot of very small translucent looking hairs all over the top of my head. Mixed in with those are some thicker darker more normal looking hairs. These translucent looking hairs are so faint and fine that I must hold my...
