Stands for Norwood 3. It is a chart that has 7 levels of baldness, 1 being not bald, 2 being either the start of male pattern baldness or just a mature hairline, and 3 being generally considered the early stages of balding. 7 is the last stage where there is little or no hair at all left on the top of the head.

From what I've read at another hair loss site: http://www.hairlosshelp.com/forums/cate ... entercat=y the foam is like a hair mousse. Goes in easy and you just brush it thourgh the hair and scalp. It is also said that it is not as effective as the lotion.
