Yea, so the first biopsy said FD. Second one last week says FD also, but some things resemble LPP so they can't be sure... :( Derm thinks that the pathology points to FD though. I got some steroidal injections done on Thursday for it.
And yea, I'm on no gluten (ok, I cheat just a little bit...
Wondering about this myself...
I've been diagnosed with folliculitis decalvans through a biopsy, though the weird little patches of hair loss (and FD itself) resembles LPP. I wanted to get on finasteride to stop the hair loss that seems to be occurring, while cutting gluten out of my diet and reducing...
Quick backstory...stabilized my hair loss for 10 years, then tried to regrow with minoxidil. It has left my hair not only worse, but now with an incurable form of scarring alopecia called folliculitis decalvans, yay!! Quick disclaimer, it might just be a grand coincidence but I never had any...
Go to a dermatologist. There's a good chance you can get steroid injections into the scalp to reduce inflammation. I did recently and that seemed to help the redness inflamed feeling substantially. Are you on any topicals right now?
I have no reason to believe that. Procerin stabilized my hair loss for 10 years basically on its own. The additional hair loss only occurred after I started minoxidil and got weird scalp issues, plus the ketoconazole recently seemed to really increase it. I've always had a very dry and sensitive...
Hi there, thanks for your response. Based on my question, can I ask why you suggest that method? And what are your results on it as compared to topical?
Maybe you missed the part where I said "So I tried to actually regrow hair, and got on Kirkland foam about 2 years ago."
That said, idk what your problem is. There is no reason to reply in such a rude manner whatsoever.
Yes. Like I said, take that with a grain of salt, but there is a reason so many people only do it once a day. I'd find the study but I don't have the patience for that after today. Sorry.
Quick backstory, I stabilized my hair loss for 10 years on some supplements (Procerin), baby shampoo, and decent diet plus good hydration (2 liters a day). With my buzzcut and some particular cutting, you couldn't really tell I was losing hair. So I tried to actually regrow hair, and got on...
Take this with a grain of salt, but I'm pretty sure I remember reading a couple years back about a study citing that results for once a day compared to 2x were minimal to non-existent.
