It's for people with male pattern baldness. Traction alopecia is caused by just that - traction. male pattern baldness is caused by DHT attacking hair follicles. Propecia is designed to inhibit DHT, therefore, it's only for MBP. It can do nothing for traction alopecia. That said, I'd see a doctor just to make sure it's traction...

It's actually kinda whispy and not as dark. :/ Edit: I also have naturally curly hair so it looks more voluminous when I grow it out.
