1522 and Vapon Topstick are good daily tapes. Should come right off with isopropyl alcohol. I think you will be very disappointed with Got2B .. but you can always try it. Usually better to find a basic glue that isn't super strong and just experiment with the very minimum amount it takes to...
You can't exactly tell what's going on from the video-- but the front has the look of thin skin piece where someone has cut into the hairline (something that should be avoided).
That said, the rest of the style and piece look quite good- especially the highlights in the hair.
Thin skin- Much more realistic when viewed up close and doesn't have the issue of fraying or getting hair stuck in glue that lace does to affect that realism. Of course, it doesn't breathe or let air and moisture through very well.
Each type has its pros and cons. Best thing to do is get...
What do you mean you can "see the plastic"?
Do you mean the front edge of the skin base, or the base material itself through the hair? A thinner skin should make a less visible edge (assuming a proper attachment)... for anything else it probably won't change much. In any case, Curtis is...
I don't know if that piece has a problem- but it's generally a bad idea to run a regular comb through a system in any case. Use a vent brush and be careful instead. If that keeps pulling out hair then you have an issue.
A very thin line of any of the usual white glues right at the front edge and a few small pieces of daily tape (1522 or whatever) spaced out around the rest. Got2Be never worked at all for me.
This is EXACTLY correct.
Daily wear, if possible, can totally extend the life of a piece. By trial and error you learn how to use just enough glue and/or weaker tapes to keep it secure for the day but then get it off easily. You can repeat this for several days before having to remove any...
Why is he doing that? Is the piece too small and he's trying to cover more area to make up for that? That should not be necessary and sounds quite uncomfortable.
There are milder tape / adhesives meant for daily wear that you could try. This means you take it off every night but not sleeping in the piece (and avoiding lots of harsh solvents to remove a gooey mess) will extend the life of the piece.
Pros: The color / grey percentage looks really good and the blends on the sides are nice.
Cons: You're right about the hairline. It's too dense. It's rare for a guy in his late 50s to have front hair so dense that there isn't even a hint of scalp showing through- something that adds a lot of...
I found that alcohol doesn't handle all the tape and glue residue cleanly. So I tested a little goo gone liquid on a piece cut off a stock unit to make sure it's compatible with this particular base material-- then used it to clean the rest of the residue off the piece.
Can anyone recommend their favorite adhesive remover for UTS / poly bases? I want to apply some to the base (not submerge or soak the base) in order to soften and remove tape reside AND white glue residue around the edges. I'm a little worried about colored adhesive removers like C22 because I...
