Does medical insurance cover any of thse androgen blockers?

I don't have insurance now and it's anyone's guess when I'll be able to get a FT job with medical benefits, so I would like to know any of you guys were able to get insurance to cover any of the pills you take for hair loss. If not, I might as well start buying them and not wait for insurance...

Been on minoxidil for a year

I have no insurance right now, and I am just out of grad school and working PT. In other wds, I am poor. Does insurance cover Propecia? No right? I have also read about the side effects, which turned me off a bit. Interesting idea about opening up the pores. Might try that.

Rogaine Foam smell is so bad....

I only use the generic stuff cuz I am poor. LOL. First Member's Mark or something like that, and then Kirkland. I haven't noticed any smells with those. Has there been any studies about the effectiveness of generic against Rogaine?

    Bumps on scalp?

I only use Nizoral twice a week. And lately I have stopped applying the shampoo twice each shower like the bottle instructs. Man why can't we just have a nice head of hair and none of this fuss? LOL I guess we all wonder that.

    Bumps on scalp?

Has anyone else ever gotten these soft itchy bumps on your scalp from minoxidil? I don't have many bumps, but I do have one or two that itch when I touch them. They feel soft to the touch and are the same color as the rest of my scalp. Hate'em.

Been on minoxidil for a year

I started on minoxidil last Oct. (generic, becaues it's much cheaper than Rogaine) I also started using Nizoral shampoo, which hasn't really helped the flaking problem much, but it's made my hair look thicker. I am not sure if the minoxidil has worked or not. My hair does look thicker, but it...

    minoxidil aplication advice

I usually start at the middle of my crown where I have the least hair, then I dab the applicator on each side, spreading out gradually until the applicator is empty. Probably not a gd idea to apply everything in one small spot

how long should i leave minoxidil in before i towel dry my hair?

The instructions say your scalp has to be dry when you apply the minoxidil. Maybe you can wash your hair, blow it dry, then apply minoxidil. The minoxidil takes hours to dry, so yeah you are likely taking some off when you towel your hair dry.

    Nizoral and Hair Gel question

1-Has anyone experienced any side effects from using Nizoral shampoo long term? I notice on the bottle that it says after to only "use as needed" after 8 weeks. 2-Can using hair gel speed up hair loss? From the gel possibly getting into your scalp and blocking follicles? Thanks

Switching from 5% to 2% minoxidil

Want to share my progress. I have now been on 5% generic minoxidil for more than 6 months. I have noticed that I've regrown some hair in the area right around the center of the top of my head. The very center still is about the same as before treatment, so I guess it's too late for those...

Anyone else suffer from dizziness when using Rogaine?

To update, I no longer have these symptoms. My body must have gotten used to the minoxidil.

    ear itch from minoxidil LOL

My ears developed a rash 3 weeks ago, and even though the rash is gone, my ears still itch now. I think it's from rubbing on the pillow.

    Stopped Shedding

I thought I would make a positive post about hair shedding. I have been on Minoxidil for about 6 weeks now. About two weeks ago, I started shedding. Everytime I touched my hair, a few strands would fall out. Given I had major flaking, I needed to shake or brush my hair for a long time before I...

Anyone else suffer from dizziness when using Rogaine?

The first time I went to the gym after starting on minoxidil (generic, liquid), I did experience dizziness and a fast heartbeat. I was sitting low in a leg machine resting waiting to use the chest machine, then I got up probably too fast to go to the chest machine, and while I was walking, I...
