You can definitely get sexual side-effects after 2 days. 2 hours not so much probably. Give it some time, you will probably return to normal within the month. From what i understand the mental side-effects are mostly the result of long term use.

it was probably nocebo then, since the dosage of finasteride above 0.1mg actually doesn't matter much in terms of both side effects and hair-growth. The effects will set in slower at a lower dosage, but once there's a buildup it shouldn't make much difference. I wish you the best!

I don't think you can make a prediction about other side-effects based on your testicular pain. I only had testicular pain when I put pressure on my balls, but on the other hand hand severe ED.

Topical finasteride does the same as normal finasteride. It kills the 5alfa-reductase enzyme. It shouldn't really matter if it gets killed on your scalp or somewhere else in your body. Someone would have to invent a locally active androgen receptor blocker or something.

Just wanted to say I have very bad experiences with psychiatrists as well. Don't want to seem bigoted, but they seem obsessed with medication. I don't believe psychiatric drugs do any good based on the available research, except to calm otherwise uncontrollable individuals in institutions.

I don't think lowering estrogen actually helps with alleviating finasteride side-effects. Estrogen has actually been shown to be beneficial to libido.
