I’m just back from the European Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, so I thought you’d like to hear a synopsis.
There were two days of workshops where various techniques were demonstrated, such as:
The SAFE system of FUE by Dr Harris
Hairline Design by Ron Shapiro
Trichophytic Closure by Dr Frechet
There were also two days of lectures and presentations, ranging from graft storage solutions to eyebrow restoration.
The hot topics this year were FUE and Trichophytic Closure, both of which I’ve been performing since 2003, so I was able to pass on some tips to my more recent colleagues. In fact, there were quite a few new hair transplant doctors and the conference generally had a lot of useful topics for beginners. Hopefully, this means that mistakes from the past won’t be repeated and the new techniques will advance the acceptability of hair transplantation to the public at large.
