Any ideas?

This may be the most important decision he makes in his first term..

Can't be much worse than the current one. All the beaurocrats just 4-year people, or any of them guaranteed longer than that? As long as the justices are the only long term people I'm happy. I hope he picks a sociallist for his secretary and provokes a conservative rebound in 2012, just as long as the banks are not destroyed. Citibank gave the treasury guy the finger before, and I bet they will again.

funny, Obama is the only one who has laid out how he well spend, make cuts, and balance the budget, yet people like CCS in all their ignorance ignore it, and call it "socialisism"

Yet it was it old man McCain who supported the bailout so much that he "suspended his campaign" and even supports the government using 300 billion to buy up bad sub-prime loans. What world does CCS live in?

I've been to his site. He says he will cut the war in Iraq to fund national health care, and says he will give oil companies a windfall tax, and will lower taxes for 95% of americans (even though 30% don't pay taxes) but he does not go into specifics. He does not say how many millions of dollars will go where from where. He is just as general as McCain.

And Obama, Bush, and McCain all campaigned for the bailout, using exactly the same words to describe what could happen. It was like they all read the same teleprompter. I heard their speeches side by side. Only house republicans opposed it in the beginning. Everyone higher up on both sides pushed it from the start.

In my years working for the Treasury Department, Secretary Rubin was pretty darn good IMHO. He has said he won't come back though.

CCS, do you even pay taxes? Have you ever made more than that is required? You like to throw out the elusive 30% number a lot that do not. Are you one of them? Or are you are "Joe the plumber" who sits around all day, does not work, and listens to right wing radio in dreams about about being a "hard working rich person"
