Sometimes whisker like hair develops in men above and behind the ear, as opposed to the normal position in front of the ear up to the level of ear attachment to the head. This condition was named whisker hair by Normwood but has also been referred to as "symmetrical circumscribed allotrichia". The condition involves the development of coarse hair usually preceding onset of pattern baldness. It's development is most frequently observed in young men of late teenage years or early twenties

Whisker hair is short, curly, dark hair that grows anterior to, above, and behind the ears in young persons who eventually develop severe androgenic alopecia.

well i just about sh*t my pants...cause i sort of have this but it's not above or behind the ears, its more just above my sideburns, like an inch or two, and not all of the hairs, only some, wiry, and not soft. just wondering, does anyone have what i have, or this other thing where it's above and behind the ear?
