This is getting so frustrating! First I have a doctor tell me that my hair loss is genetic and he hands me some free bottles of Rogaine 2%. Then I get a hair specialist tell me that it's just Telogen Effluvium and it'll grow back. Meanwhile, my hair is still falling out, and I've even noticed changes in my eyebrows, although no one sees it but me. All my bloodwork is normal so it's pretty much just a guessing game for these docs.

The hair that is growing back is smaller and thinner than the hair it replaced, and I have a lot of that "peach fuzz" hair in the front that means that your hair is on its way out. The specialist told me that when hair grows back in it is 20% smaller than the normal hair. Is that true, or is he just failing to see what is right in front of him?

So now I don't know if my hair is coming or going, but it looks to me like it's going. I have 3 more appointments set up with other doctors, but I'm getting nowhere fast. My hairline keeps moving back further and further, and I feel helpless at this point. I'm even questioning if the hair on my arms is the same as it was before. I'm trying to hold myself together, but sometimes it's really tough.

Get some minoxidil 5% and folligen spray. If you have dandruff, use nizoral and T-Sal.

Good luck

Dear Cricket
I'm so sorry to hear about your hairloss. I had a serious lung condition last year and went through alot of trauma. My hair started falling out...so bad that i had no hairline left and lost 70% of my hair. It went on for 3 months and it has now been 4 months since it has not fallen out. I went to a Dermatologist who immediately wanted to put me on £1000 treatment, which I could not afford. They told me it was ginetic thinning, and that it won't grow back completely. They also told me that the hair wont be the same.

I am pleased to tell you that my hair has now grown back to the length of about 5cm. In the beginning it looks very fuzzy, as it has not got the weight to make it lie flat. I know how frustrating it is to find someone who can help you. I can only tell you that unfortunately every single case of hairloss is different. I will be praying for you and hope that your hair will grow back fast.

Regards
Judith
