When To Give Up on Minoxidil/Rogaine

Just to describe my hairloss situation a bit...I'm probably at a Norwood 1 or 2, but have diffuse thinning all over the top of my head (very wide part if i part it) , and thinner spots on my crown, and two above my temples into a receding hairline pattern.

My hairline now is fine, but I can very clearly see the pattern it's moving at.

I've been using Generic Minoxidil at night and Rogaine Foam in the morning for 4 months now, and have seen absolutely no results, No thickening of thinning areas, and no regrowth.

Since my understanding is that Minoxidil doesn't prevent hair loss, only possibly regrows some hair...if I have seen no benefits from it in 4 months...should I just give up on it and stop wasting my money, and just stick with the propecia/finasteride to hopefully maintain what i have? Or do some people experience substantial growth with minoxidil/rogane past the 4 month mark?

I am in the same boat. I started using about a year and a half ago when I first noticed a receding hairline. I gave it 3 months but it did absolutely nothing and if anything it only noticed the hairloss quicken.

I was told 2 things:

1.) 3 months was not long enough
2.) It works better on the crown.

Then about 5 months ago I noticed the slightest bald spot appearing. So I gave it another shot. 5% Regaine twice a day, Nizoral every other day.

Same bloody story. I am on it 4 months and you can see from my pics on my album that it is doing me no benefit whatsoever.

I have been told again to give it 6 months but to be honest. If it has done nothing to stop or even remotely regrow in 4, what difference will another 2 make!
