What length should I buss hair to monitor results?

So heres the scope. I've been on Dutas for roughly about six months now. My hair has been kept at probably about 3-3.5 inches during that period. I don't think visibly anyone could tell that I'm thinning, but I could feel it when I would run my hands through the top of my hair vs the sides and back.

Anyways I've buzzed my head, and I plan on keeping it this way for probably the next 3 months to see if the Dutas are growing hair, maintaining it, or just doing nothing. Just curious what length I should buzz it to to monitor results. Right now it's a #6 - 7/8. Is that a good length or should I go lower/higher? Also whats a decent interval to take pictures? Weekly, every other, or monthly.

BTW all I've been using is the Duta's - 0.5mg daily (6 months) and Nizoral. Which I just started using about 2 weeks ago. For the most part I've been using it everyday. Is that bad? I would rather have dry hair, then be itching it all the time.

It's your head so look in the mirror and decide for yourself. Just be consistent with the length.

7/8 is fine..MAKE SURE you take pictures every month using the same camera under the same lighting conditions...try to limit the variables as much as possible. I take mine with my hair soaking wet under my bathroom light so its a lot easier for me to compare between months. Good luck.
