I did not have such a bad hair line in the 1980's but it was thin and I was in music so i availed myself of several solutions over the years (extensions , weaves, peices made from a mold of my head, hair bonded to other hair with wax etc....)

I didnt much care for things that touched the hairline so I opted for extensions in the back thereby allowing me to commit alot of the middle hair to the front (does that make sense)

anyway, now I'm pretty well receded and looking into options and expected to see great advancements over the last 30 years ....but it looks as though we are back to wigs and toupes.

At one point when i wrecked my hair, i had a membrane thin peice that glued to a circle of very short hair around the crown ....and man did it stay on! and the way it mixed with my own hair was very cool. plus it was so thin and clear that it looked/felt real.

Is it becase I was going for the BIG HAIR look that I had so many options then...and most of the people here are going for more of a short hair sort of look? I was hoping there would be some kind of complex / partial thing by now, but most of the links I see here are very traditional looking.

Anyone know alot about this? Do I have more options if I'm willing to go long hair? Are you guys now gluing these yourselves? (I had to go to a specialist)

any info would be much appriciated.
