Water quality & hairloss of thick hairs?

I've been on finasteride & minoxidil for the last 10 years w/ diffuse hairloss on the top of the head only. Recently its become more noticible in the last year. I started using Nizoral shampoo about 6 months ago and my hair looks fuller the day after washing it.

However, during the last 2 months my hair has been really falling out at an alarming rate. I am not sure what is causing this crazy shed of even thick long hairs? But, I had a plumber change the water heater in my house about 2 months ago. Could this be a coincidence? My dad who is 75 years old and has always had a fairly full head of hair is suddenly starting to thin on the top too.

Which is why I am starting to suspect it might be the water heater? maybe its doing something to the water which is causing my hair to fall out faster?

Anyone has any thoughts on water quality and hair loss? Should i install a water filter to the shower-head? BTW, I am located in Chicago which gets its water from lake michigan. Anyone know if lake michigan water is hard or soft water?

sounds like a good idea for a steven king book

unless your water heater has grown a pair of testicles and is producing DHT then no. if your not on propecia expect to lose the hair.
