Volumising gel.

Since about the age of 18 I have always used hair gel as my hair is fine. I used the cheap supermarket gel which cost about 50p.
But as I have got older the hair on the top of my head has thinned so I tried a new gel while I was abroad last year called Volume set it which really helped.

This product Is not available in the UK. Can anyone recommend a good volumising gel and where to purchase it? Is V05 Plump it up spritz any good?

How old are you? Are you trying to accomplish a "wet look"? I used to rock the wet look about a decade ago and I actually liked the look. Now that my hair is thin as hell, those days are over. Gel clumps my hair and makes it look even thinner. I would say experiment with different hair products. I haven't styled my hair for years, but recently been experimenting and have been using a styling clay. It actually has pretty good hold and makes your hair feel thicker. It isn't greasy either.

I am in my late forties. As soon as I go out the house my hair gets blown all over the place, even with gel in. I noticed the cheap gel no longer enabled me to comb my hair back with a bit of height. My hair is close to my head now it has thinned.

The stuff I had abroad was great and really added volume. I do not use wet look, just firm hold gel.
Now I am looking for something to add volume.

I use clays, waxes, or pastes that leave the hair with a dry matte finish. It gives the hair texture and volume. I used to use water wax, but have been using V05 recently.

I prefer a bit of gatsby or vo5 myself
