Hey all!

This is my first post and I thought I would share some things with you along with my experiences of Vinci and my pending procedure.

I am currently 35 and my crown is thinning a little bit, this doesn’t really worry me, but my issues is around my front hairline. Lets just say its quite high. For years I have been combing my hair in a direction that would cover it up and then apply some product to make it stay there! I recently went paintballing with my work team and the carefully placed hair soon moved and I was open to insults..which I laughed off but I secretly was a bit annoyed and in some ways upset.
I did an assessment in a mirror and I knew it wasn’t good.. i did some research about the procedures I can have, surgical and medicinal so I went on to this Dr Wolfe Caffeine shampoo, I bought the 2 in 1 with anti-dandruff as the original one caused my scalp to dry up. I have been using it for a year or so now. As a small product review for this, it was Ok.. it cleaned my hair and it had a nice scent so I continued using it. I can’t really see any difference in my hair when using this product, but I would rather use it and get a benefit than not use it and potentially miss out.

I spoke to my wife about having a Hair transplant after watching interviews with various celebs on YouTube and they all looked great so I decided to investigate a hair transplant. After months of research I decided to try Vinci.

I made an appointment with a chap in Leeds for my consultancy. Not too sure if I can name names, but he has had a procedure done himself and in my opinion perfectly placed to advise. Like with many posts on here, he used a microscope and showed me a thinning area and then showed me an area that wasn’t effected by DHT, the difference was amazing. The consultant presented me with various option, FUT or FUE in UK or abroad and quotes for them all too. I took them all home and gave it some thought.

It took about 2 weeks for me to agree and take the plunge, I opted for 2500 FUE in Malaga and I have my surgery in a few weeks time! (Monday 27[SUP]th[/SUP] July)

The consultant advised me that I need to do as much as I can to keep my existing hair, so I decided to try 1mg finasteride, I have been on it for about a month now. I am suffering from some minor side effects:
· firstly a bit of Brain Fog were I can’t think clearly (like when you’re tired)
· Slight loss of libido and some very minor performance issues.
· In the first week or two I experience a slightly itchy scalp
Although I must stress that these are very minor, please don’t let it put you off taking it, they are very minor. I have been on them for about a month now and I have heard your side effects return to normal after 2-3 months so ill keep on them for now and report back later on in the year.
Communication with Vinci has been fantastic, when I email the consultant direct he responds very quickly and its always an in depth response to my questions not only that but he is a nice guy too. So far I rate them.

Ill update it once I have had my procedure!!
Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks and good luck to you all

Hi All,
So...i have had my Vinci Hair transplant in Malaga! if i had to sum the experience up in one word it would be "excellent" I opted for 2000 FUE and Dr Pissano did the procedure.
The hotel we stayed in was literally a 5 minute walk to the clinic and up on entering the clinic it was very clean and it seemed like a calm place. I was met by Emma, who had lived in England for many years so naturally i was comforted by the fact there wasn't a language barrier. Emma was a Technician and a very good one at that and was often left by Dr Pissano to continue the work.
So i took some antibiotics and a pain killer tablet along with Zanex or something, (to calm me down). I was then taken in to a room and had my picture taken from all angles, i guess this was a "before" opportunity.
Then came the dredded shave! they used a bare blade from some clippers and took it right back to the scalp, i knew this was going to happen but still a shock when you look in a mirror! haha Then i was taken in to the operating theatre for the extraction process. I didnt feel any pain whilst this was carried out, it was all a bit of a blur as the zanex kicked in. My procedure spanned 2 days so they managed to take out 1500 grafts on day 1 (and planted them) and a further 500 on day 2.
On the night time when the pain killers wore off i was allowed to take some more, they were slightly stronger than paracetamol so they made me a little drousy so sleeping wasnt an issue. They also gave me some saline spray to keep the grafts moist whist healing. They also gave me some pillow protectors as there is quite a bit of blood and a lot of Saline comes out too.

2 weeks later and all the scabs have fallen off and I have lost about 70% of the transplanted hair which is to be expected I guess. It looks like stubble and there is no “bulb” on the end so I guess..more of a hope this will grow back in the next 3-4 months.

Would I have another hair transplant by Vinci, I found them excellent.
