Hey guys.

32 years old and lost a lot of hair on crown more or less bald and its thinning at the front all over. I like having hair and am not a treatment guy, as in I just simply don't like (major) maintenance.

Considering a consult for the private clinic of harley street after looking through Google. Before I do, can anyone share anything? I'm not skeptical but I know I'm being sold something rather than the good old NHS for example. I want to know I'm getting value for money in terms of service knowledge and product.

London is quite a treck for me so would prefer Bristol or Birmingham. Any one have any experience there? Or should I just bite the bullet and go for London? Or can anyone recommend a reputable surgeon/specialist for those areas I can look into myself.

Thanks in advance.

What are your long term hair goals? A completely full head of hair? A transplant isn't likely to give you this if you're unwilling to do "maintenance." Sucks, but it's just the current state of what's available for balding guys.

Yes full head. It wont be horseshoe if i leave it. When i say maintenance i dont want to take topical lotions or pils. It took 20 years for my father to go same route and he stareted at 30 aswell. But people are stsrting to notice mine now as i tie it up. Always had thick long hair up until a few years ago.

But im under the impression that a FUE transplant is 1 - 2 treatments and permanent? What maintenance am I required to do that websites and clinics arent telling me if you dont mind me asking?

You have a limited amount of permanent, donor hair to transplant onto balding areas, and unless you're a genetic freak or your hairloss only progresses up to a point, there's a good chance it will run out eventually without being able to cover all your baldness. This is why it is best to try and hang on to whatever is still left on top through maintenance. If a clinic is agreeing to give you a transplant without even bringing up finasteride/propecia, the surgeons who work there likely have no ethics, and are just looking to cash in on your desperation.

Okay thank you for your time and advice. Ive been weary of topical and pils as i rarely read anything good about them, or have a negative effect onother parts of the body.

i havent had a consultstion yet but would most likely have one just curious what are good options for birmingham or bristol or if i should go to london.

i read good things about dr reddy but i doubt he venturrs out of london. As such illl happily travel to the better reputed places for assessment. My gebetics are odd. Very hairy yet not the top of the head. But at the same time we are all thickhaired. I uderstand without aassessment i wont know but.... these expensive pils and lotions. Seem like money down drain along with hair? Does regaine even work over time?

Try Dr. Shahmalak in Manchester. I trained him in 2014. The ones on Harley street learned from what I knew in 2003. They are not as advanced.
