The possibility of sheding hairs never growing back?

A totally hypothetical question (and one that may seem stupid to many of you): is it possible, after the onset of taking finasteride, that your hair which has shed will never grow back again?

My understanding is, that at worst (if the drug wasn't working for you), the shed hairs would grow back thinner - at the same rate/capacity that your normal hairloss occurs at. So basically, the worse situation you could end up in after taking finasteride is the equivalent to not taking the drug at all (ignoring all possible side effects)?

Am I correct? Does anybody have any further insight?

Cheers.

As far as I know that's how it works. Some guys who experience prolonged shedding might say otherwise but I think their minds are playing tricks.
