Hair Congress is October 31st. What else is tangible that we can look to. Lets try to keep the dates as specific as possible, so we have something to measure progress by.

Rather than say, "new treatment expected in the early 2020s," say something tangible like, "Italian Hair Loss Lotion to Hit The Market in 2016," yeah something specific like that that we can bank on. Lol, just kidding.

But seriously, let's gather some upcoming dates in this thread. The people here who are suffering from hair loss need to break up the suffering into chunks, day at a time style, rather than open ended "good things are coming" platitudes.

So yeah, hair congress begins October 31, 2017.

What else?

The '18s have it! Nobody step in front of a bus before then. I'm hoping things will accelerate beyond that in additional science and clearing regulations.

absolutelly nothing effective for the next 10 years... I think maybe only kyocera would come out with a really effective treatment, but that would be available only too actors/footballers for the next 20 years due to the prohibitive costs, around 50.000€ I would guess very likely...

My calendar guesstimation here:

2018

Q1 – Fidia release, maybe.

Q2 - POLICHEM TOPICAL finasteride

Currently in Phase III study, completed in February 2018. So any time after that.

Q3 - WINLEVI FROM CASSEIOPEIA

This is the acne version of CB which will be released as Breezula in 2021. Same active ingredient but uses less since facial skin easier to penetrate than scalp. Might work if used off label in stronger dose.

Q4 - SHISEIDO IN JAPAN

Phase 2 data moved forward to Q2 2017, so maybe avail Fall of 2018.

2019

Q3 - FOLLICA TO MARKET

Q3 - SAMUMED

Entering phase 3 summer of 2018, so no possible release untile summer 2019

Q4- HISTOGEN (Wildcard. Who knows).

Q4 - Aclaris JAK inhibitors ← Probably bullshit for Androgenetic Alopecia

2020

Q1 - Kyucera with Dr. Tsuji ← Best, most solid science and likely cure.

2021

Q1 - REPLICEL 2021

German Phase 2 started 1/1/16. Will last 3.25 years)

Q1 - KYTHERA\BIMATOPROST\SETI - Big mystery

Q1 - CB 03 01 - OUT 2021

An antiandrogen being tested in gel form by “Cosmo.” Works at the follicle level. Directly blocks DHT. http://www.cosmopharma.com/news/press.aspx

Lol 50k nobody except idiots will pay that. How many of the bald people pay more than 2-4k € for a hair transplant? There are so many countries that offer hair transplant for less and have much more experience due to their tons of customers that prices like 10k or more are totally overpriced.

Automated process, machines, facilities surgeons etc will be very expensive for Riken etc., but if they charge the first patients with such high prices the demand will be very low and in the end they have to stop it because of the lack of patients.
I don't think that these guys are dumb enough to realize that they have the only permanent cure and patients have to come more than once to fully solve their problems, so they will make a businessplan and will charge the right (normal) fee in comparison to future prices /treatments and long term earnings.

The numbers that some guys here write for this treatment are just insane, especially for about 90% of the world, developed countries included.

In my humble opinion; while RIKEN, if ever released, will have the ultimate and final solution to Androgenetic Alopecia...by that time, chances are we'll already have *better* options than we have today (Shiseido, Follica). So, there will most likely exist competition, atleast for lower Norwoods. Just like Shiseido's treatment, RIKEN will have to get some tissue from the back of the head, and then multiply, clone (call it what you want). Then, it'll have to be injected. In this sense, if you think about it, there's not a very big difference when it comes to labour etc comparing those two. Well, there may be *some* or bigger differences upon injections (RIKEN will co-op with surgeons), but it's all up in the air, still. And most of us will prolly agree that transplant prices are mostly dictated by labour intesiveness, hence price pr graft and different prices in different countries. Now, we have already got some clue about the price of Shiseido, and what we can expect there. Not even 1000 usd.

Again, in my humble opinion, the guesstimated prices of the future RIKEN treatment quoted by members here, are prolly dictated and (maybe) inflated because of the only fact we know about it from them; initially 10 000 patients per year. Or is there something else I have missed? Maybe the prices will be atronomical after all, but does that really make sense from an economical/business perspective also?

Aaanyways; all we can do is speculate, and one day I sure would like to know what price they land on. After all, many things can still change, and so can their ''plan'' of 10 000 initial patients :)
