Diffuse hairloss basically means you still have hair coverage, but it's thin. Most people with male pattern baldness have some areas that are diffuse. I guess a "regular" NW3 would have their original thickness/density in the non-bald areas, but a diffuse NW3 would have less hair than normal in their non-bald areas.
