I've been on 5% Rogain foam (in the mornigs) and 5% Kirkland minoxidil 1ML for a little while now and my hair has shredded like crazy with no signs of growing back . Before I started I was a norwood 2 with mild recession and now I'm atleast a norwood 3 and my hair is horrible very thin straw like.

I got up this morning brushed my hand through my hair and counted 26 hairs in the sink? I'm so depressed now I'm 21 years old and not far from being bald. I don't go out now no where near what I used just to I can avoid haing to do something with my hair. I check to see any signs of regrowth everyday and there is no little hairs or anything appearing on my scalp I'm not sure what to do now? Any advice

Cheers Dan

Hi to all,A paper shredder is easy and it takes not much more than throwing a paper in the trash. Although you may end up forking over a few hundred dollars for your new mill, it will pay for itself in the protection it gives you. So if you need a shredder, consider making one for your home or office today, so you can protect yourself against identity theft and the long arm of the law, and save money .Thanks for your nice post. I have collected lot of info from your post.

Hey man, I tried regaine foam (that's what rogaine is called in europe) on my hairline about 3 months ago but had to stop after five days because it gave me really serious headaches. I shed like an dog afterwards and it significantly pushed my hairline back about an inch. I've got no real signs of regrowth yet, although there are a few small hairs poking through now. I've been told by the company that makes regaine that it takes between 3-4 months before you should see any regrowth so i'm probably still early, it may even take longer they said who knows? They did also tell me that shedding is often a good sign that your a good responder. I had to stop the drug but if you are still on it it could be a good sign that your shedding in the long run, ultimately you have to make the decision on that one yourself.
I'm keeping a log in another thread on this forum posting my results week by week as i'm now on propecia so i'll be posting in that keeping updates on whether my hair grows back from my whole regaine foam fiasco.
Until then, stay strong! I know how disheartening it is to have a set back like this but i'd recommend getting a good concealer (i use toppix) for now and that should help boost your confidence, use some conditioner and hot oil to fix your straw like hair and hopefully, and i know this is easier said than done, ride it out for a few months. It may look bleak now but it should get better.
Other than that you may want to consider propecia in the future. Maybe not yet as you are quite young but i have just started it at the age of 26 and people seem to say the earlier you start the more successful you'll be, also rogaine is just there to boost new growth but won't stop the extra loss of hair, but propecia should stop the hair falling in the first place.

Hope this helps a bit

Hang in htere man. At least thats what I tell myself. i just turned 27 and started Foam in late October and have been shedding 50 hairs a day easy. Went from a NW2 with temple recession to easily a NW3. You just need to ride it out for a few months. From what I have read this shed is perfectly normal and shoud stop within 2 months. Expect some changes 3-4 months in. Good luck.

First things first.

Have you already consulted a REPUTABLE doctor? If you still haven't, I hope it is not that late to make an appointment with one. At the tender age of 21, your hormones are at a relatively unstable form so it is best to go to a specialist before plunging in recommendations made by others.

Just a thought Dan.

Cheers! :)

Dude 50 hairs is nothing. You don't have a problem with losing hair at that rate. It is just not growing back enough if you have visibly less hair...
