which one is better or worse and what does it mean when you shed hair with white bulbs as opposed to no white bulbs?

thank you

Every hair shaft shed from a telogen follicle will have the keratinized bulb at one end.

The only conclusion you can extract is that the shaft coming off is not due to breakage but due to the follicle having entered the telogen phase.

If the bulb is green, you are Hulk.

Hope this helped.

well if the hair and bulb are coming out that means its dead... but if the bulb doesn't fall out and the hair just breaks does that mean those are hairs that are going to grow back?? or its the same thing either way ad they are falling out

No, it means the follicle entered the telogen phase months ago.

The hair will keep growing, yes.

or its the same thing either way ad they are falling out

Obviously, it is not.

Breakage is a result of mechanical stress, chemical damage to the shaft, or nutritional deficiency. The follicle remains active.

Shedding of the shaft is a normal process. Increased shedding could be due to short cycling caused by male pattern baldness (or a Telogen Effluvium or...).

ok one more question... sorry for being annoying... what is Telogen Effluvium? and what vitamins could be lacked that cause breakage?

the white bulbs haven't shed in like a year or so but there is lots of breakage, thats why i'm asking ... im not exactly sure if its male pattern baldness i just know im losing my hair

Ok... it goes like this:

What really matters is the image of your hair and basically scalp exposure. Do you see more scalp than before?

Breakage is in a different class of problems. If you are not sanding your scalp daily with a towel, you are probably experiencing male pattern baldness.

Telogen Effluvium: Telogen Effluvium. A condition where after a traumatic injury, or drug use, an abnormally big number of follicles enter the telogen phase. Telogen Effluvium is not a scarring form of alopecia(unlike male pattern baldness) so the hair lost usually regrows.

Once again: tha main criterion is scalp image. Increased shedding is just a waking call. Do you see more scalp? Are thinning areas following a pattern? Are you free this evening?

Hair shed with bulbs is completely normal. In fact, all hair that is literally "shed" is supposed to have a bulb on it. Hair without a bulb was not shed, but rather cut, broken, or sheared off somehow.

The color of the bulb does not indicate anything more regarding male pattern baldness status as the color of your eyes does.

A white bulb on shed hairs may be a sign of scalp inflammation. Try an emu oil lotion (a mixture of aloe, jojoba oil, and emu oil) on the scalp to help control inflammation. A pyrithione zinc shampoo, like Head and Shoulders with aloe for sensitive skin, may also be helpful. Some people use an apple cider vinegar-cayenne pepper shower rinse --see http://www.overmachogrande.com for information on this.
