Hi all I've lurked some on this board and decided to post. I started thinning out on top when I was about 31. It has been slow. I,ve still got some hair on top but pretty thin really. I get a burr haircut and Its harder to tell but when it grows out much more noticable. A rude hair dresser pissed me off awhile back after i said I should just cut it down really short so I wont have to deal with combing hair at least thats what I meant. She responded that " yea my husband is bald to thats what he does. Never went back there.
I almost didn't do anything propably cause I didn't want to think about it.
I just decided that WTF why not fight back and buy more time or mabey get a little back. I'm married and have been for almost 15 yrs so mabey not the priority that it was is for some. Let me say that I certainly feel for those who are loosing hair at late teens thru the 20's. I started conservatively at .5 mg propecia, nizoral 1%, crinagen. For those who think you wont care at all about hair when your over 40 you might.....so keep up the fight.

It's OK Dude, Do it!

Hey, I am 44 yrs old. Hair has been thinning for about 12 years, and got worse when I hit 42. I saw a picture of myself at a family reunion and asked who that old bald fatman was. A young friend said; 'Dude! It's like YOU man!" Oh crap! I am going to do something about this if it stinking kills me! (I am a 44 year old teen). So, I started on Propecia (now 1/4 Proscar), and added Minoxidil 2x daily after 3 months. I then added Nizoral shampoo after downloading a medical study paper on Nizoral for male pattern baldness. Added Folligen copper peptide treatment, and Dude! It's like comming back. Slow, but sure. I work in an R&D lab, so I "sample" a hair root and shaft occasionally and view it under a high powered microscope. This gives me a view on how healthy the follicle is. I have some major sheds now and then, but it always comes back thicker the next go around. Piece of advice: Take pictures at 3 month intervals. NEVER stare in the mirror every day. (unless you are serching for vellus-terminal conversion hairs.) Keep up the fight. "Like, it is so worth it"
