I have been on the generic minoxidil for 5 months since jan08, and its been itchy but i just bear with it and get it grinding, in may i think i have enough because i think my denisty is lesser in the crown area, so i dropped it. Stop in early April08or early may08 cant remember.

i found dr lee's no PPG product ( which has been the cause of the itch ) and started on with it since jun08, and now its 4 months, and i can say the density has become lesser again, the density is revealed when i part my hair.

i have been on propecia for 18 months. (omg)

to be honest, im not sure what my options are, should i drop minoxidil?
1) drop minoxidil altogether
2) use alternatives like xandrox
3) wait for a longer period
4) buy a further higher concentration
5) use other products
6) use back the generic version (dr lee's)?

Interesting i had the same problem with the none ppg formular and before using it my crown wasn't a major issue. I came off it and started using just propecia (1/8th) and saw palmetto and my crown feels a little thicker. You could use minoxidil on your crown to deal with this problem, but then you would be completelly minoxidil dependant and are risking more shedding.

I would avoid a higher dose as this will elevate your shedding to catastrophic proportions. If you continue using it you could get worse and suffer really bad anxiety like i did. My advice would be to get off it. It seems to me like the minoxidil is making your hair shed far too much for you to see the bennefits, as your hair is in a constant state of shedding so much it isn't given time to grow.

If this is true however you could try lowering the dose to say once a day or use it every two days so your hair is given time to grow, i personally would get off it, its worked for me.
