If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Last year I experienced the death of two people very close to me. One being my sister who was 32 and the other my boy friends cousin who was 26. A couple months after my b-friends cousin passed away tons of hair started falling out. Alarmed I went to my physician and had blood work done. After that came up normal, I went to a dermatologist who diagnosed it as Telogen Effluvium. The massive amounts of hair loss died down after having it for around six months. Since than, however, I have noticed that around my crown area... I have two crowns... that my hair is becoming noticably thin to the point you can see my scalp. It is so thin that my part actually extends from the from the front of my head to the back now... Anyhow, I went back to my dermatologist and he said that everything was normal because there were new hairs growing back. The only problem is I keep on see little hairs everwhere... that seem to decrease in size at the end... So, basically I have no idea what this is... if it still is Telogen Effluvium or if I have genetic hair loss.... which by the way no one has except my grandfather... My derm. seems to think everything is normal however I have a good feeling it is not.... any adivce would be helpful

stress and telogen effluvium

All I can say is, don't wait too long before you see a specialist. I too lost a ton of hair (although I can't pinpoint the reason) about 6-8 months ago. Although both my derm and my doctor said it was nothing to worry about, I believe otherwise, that I do in fact have androgenetic alopecia (it runs in the men in my family). I'm going to force my GP to help me this week, but I wish I hadn't waited so long-- I've watched my hair get worse and worse, in the hopes that it would get better, to no avail.

If you want to jumpstart your follicles, you might try something like Tricomin. A lot of women here seem to have success with that. Good luck!
