Thinking about buying one, it says on their site that not only does it help transplanted hair grow thicker but it also helps donor scars heal quicker? Any of you guys used this? Thoughts?
I've tried 2.0 mm, and 1.5 mm dermarollers. The pain, while it is bearable, just gets annoying after a while, plus it may not be all that effective. The dermapen is a much better investment IMO.I think derma roller threads aren't allowed, there was a thread in the research forum where people were bleeding their heads out or something and the mod didn't like to see that. Sometimes it's normal to bleed a bit from using it, but that's why the method is called "wounding", to help stimulate growth. However, I have heard very few bad things about derma rollers and several positive things and results. It has good research behind it too.
I ordered a kit and will be trying it out. There's really very little to lose with micro-needling, unless you completely overdo it, so it's good so long as you aren't an idiot. Some like to say that you're going to damage your skin and leave scar tissue, but it does the exact opposite, which is why it's mainly a tool to remove acne scars or aging lines. Also if you're using oils, minoxidil or ketoconazole shampoo it increases absorption significantly.
