Hey guys,

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if that's just the way it is, but it sure as hell feels like im doing something wrong.

whenever I shower or put water on my hair system for some reason when the water drys out my system loses its smoothness and gets really dry a lot of the hair starts sticking together and then it becomes a lot harder to style. brushing it, styling it and drying it out with a towel while its wet doesn't seem to do anything the end result is usually the same.

when I go to the salon and they wash it and clean it for me that never happens. so my guess is that I must be doing something wrong. but I don't know what.

Happened for me at the start, but not now. I cant tell you what you are doing wrong, but this is what I do.

I always use warm water running in same direction - usually running from crown to front.

I shampoo gently and give it a comb immediately after shampoo and still in shower. I pat dry it a few times and let the air do the rest.

Now you could do all this and it still ends up tangled. Basically that means you were sold a bad system with the hair collected and attached in any direction and not in the direction nature intended - look up cuticles. This saves the supplier money and time. If the salon's fine with it then it must be how you are washing it.

My guess is you just need to condition more and/or wash less. You only need to wash a hair system once a week, unless you are a smoker or you work in a dusty environment. When you do wash it, you need to condition it really well. If you are washing it off your head, let it sit in the conditioner for a few hours, and invest in a really rich good quality conditioner - a specialist conditioner for replacement hair, or one for treated "damaged" hair. Try to keep the conditioner away from the knots though, if it is a lace piece. Gently comb the hair of the piece with the conditioner still in it, to get rid of any tangles.

I think you got some really good advice here. I love Morrocan oil. The other thing that I suggest that when you comb, that you should only comb in one direction from root to tip.
