Never thought it would happen to me, I always had lots of hair and a young look.

10 month ago I realise that my crown what quite thin and that I had been loosing quite a lots of hair in the shower every day (~30).
Started on Minoxidil and Bepanthene (Vitamine B5 for 6 weeks) last December.
Still been shedding a lot (~30 to 60 every day) but I hope that the Minoxidil is compensating for that.

I didn't discontinued Minoxidil though after 8 month as I was afraid of more shedding and just started on Finasteride 3 weeks ago.
Surprisingly I don't seems to get any side effect so I not too sure if it is doing anything.

Will see if my baldness is still progressing.

Funny fact is that I used to shampoo myself with a 2% Ketoconazole shampoo (Ketoderm cream) every 2 days for perhaps 5 years and stopped using it 3 years ago. Perhaps this shampoo did actually slowed it down...

For me the 'real' treatment you started 3 weeks ago with finasteride. Minoxidil doesn't really help much on its own ;)

April 2016 update

Just wanted to update my thread with some pictures, April 2016

So 8 months on Finasterine and still using Minoxidil 5%. My crown looks better. The frontal and mid-scalp are not the best but it is to be expected.
Still shedding a lot but I am starting to think that it is the way my hair works...

Quick update with pictures from February 2017.
Still on Finasteride and Minoxidil.
Crown is okay, the front is more and more thin though.
Still shedding everyday around 100 hairs...

Still loosing hair every day, around 100-200. Mostly at the front I guess, the crown seems fine.
Hope it stay like that.

Looks like your treatment has been working because after two years your crown looks better than when you started. Honestly your front still looks pretty good. It may have thinned a little, but not much, so I would be happy about that. Thanks for the update. Are you using minoxidil twice a day? And which kind?

Same regimen as always:
Minoxidil 5% / Twice a day
Finasteride 1mg / Once a day.

Thought I will do an update of my treatment.
Same regimen as always:
Minoxidil 5% / Twice a day
Finasteride 1mg / Once a day.

However since the begining of December 2019 I noticed some disconfort (Burning, pins and needles) in the lower abdomen. I stoped my Finasteride and it stopped. Took some pills back and it comeback again with even a very sharp pain that lasted a day (like my bladder was very full).
Don't really understand why it is happening now after nearly 5 years. I am trying one last time before going to the doctor for advice and checkup (and probably stop Finasteride).
