My experience over the last few years

Hi, I have been away from the hairloss community for a while now but I thought I'd come share my experience in the hope that it can help others.

I started losing my hair at 22 but I didnt worry too much as my hair was quite thick. One year later and it was starting to get quite noticeable and I started to get 'the itch'. I couldnt afford to get anything expensive at the time and so I started to use Alpecin (caffiene shampoo) and a very strong and probably over the top range of vitamin suplements. I would wash my hair every day and probably exceeded the recommended dose on every vitamin by 1000%! Believe it or not this method actually worked for three years without any noticeable loss of hair and I was smugly posting on another forum saying how I didnt need any expensive medication and that all anyone needed was Alpecin and vitamins... I was wrong!

So get to 26 and I was finding it hard to style my hair, I was using other hair to cover up my thinning patch on the top of my head and my fringe was pathetic so I really had to try something else.

I never really believed in medication for hair loss but I wasnt willing to just let it go without trying something and so I started on Propecia. I took it for a couple of months and I didnt notice any changes apart from reduced sex drive so not a great start! The side effects went away after six months and my hair loss slowed down but no regrowth. Skip to the present time and I'm approaching 28 and my hair is back to where it was at 22 which I'm really happy about and I'd definitely recommend anyone who has still got a lot of their hair but have started thinning to stick with propecia.

What I will say is that the human body is a pretty funny thing and that I could be posting on here in a years time with a skinhead after my body rejects the propecia! But for now its working brilliantly. I am on my mobile right now but i will see about getting some pictures up later. Thanks for reading.
