Will Minoxidil actually cause you to lose your hair initally only to grow new hair over time. This is a concern that i would have using this product?

I am thinking about purchasing some products for thinning. Anyone have any suggestings in starting out. any input is greatly appreciated.

Any initial shedding is nothing to be afraid of. For me, I donno if I had a shed but I was seeing improvement by 2 months.

If you stop minoxidil at some point, you're likely to have a bad shed, but the hair should rebound back to where it would be if you'd never used minoxidil. That's my understanding.

I'm a big fan of minoxidil as it's done the most for me in my many years trying treatments. The last 14 months on it has hair looking very good.

You can get a 4 month supply of generic minoxidil from ebay for around $30. Very cheap way to start treatment, and by 4-6 months on it you should know if it's working.

If you have a problem with rogaine/generic minoxidil's drying time, itching or flakes, you should give Dr.Lee's minoxidil solution a try. Dries fast and causes fewer problems due to lower propylene glycol content. Lee's site is http://www.minoxidil.com
