I have been using minoxidil for almost 3 years and have not seen any regrowth, i've maintained but don't know if that is because of dutasteride.
any opinions on whether i should stick with
dutasteride .5
nizoral
tricomin
fluridil
minoxidil 12.5%

Well, it would be simple enough just to stop using it, then watch carefully for the next six months to see if there are any obvious adverse effects. If there are, you can just start using it again.

If you decide to do that, be sure and report the results here!

Yeah, that's a big surprise. Minoxidil and Propecia are worthless crap. They stand as monuments to failed medical science.

They are amongst the best medications we currently have for male pattern baldness, they work reasonably well for me, allowing some small cosmetic improvement (against continued loss) they also work reasonably well for a significant percentage of users.

Those drugs aren't going to save your hair. You are going to lose the battle with time.

We are going to lose the battle against death, with time, as well.

Might as well just f*** it all, get a one way ticket to Rio, have a stiff capirinha and jump off the corcovado at dawn.

Neoman1212, your statement is a load of crap and you obviously either haven't tried them/or gave up too soon. Or maybe you are part of the small % that hasn't had success, either way you shouldn't be so bitter and make such vague dumb comments. I have been on minoxidil for close to 3 years and propecia for 1 year and a half, and I saw considerable improvement. . and since the initial improvement in hair count and density. . .it's leveled off and I have maintained my hair. so i would stick to using it if you've maintained, and not risk a possible bad shed.

Ah, yes...this post is a sure sign of someone who used those treatments, and they didn't work for him. Therefore, he thinks they don't work for ANYBODY.

Your hair follicles have been genetically programmed to shut down, and that is exactly what they are going to do. These drugs may slow the process down a little, but until medical science figures out how to reprogram your hair follicles, they are going to die.

These drugs extend the period that you have cosmetically acceptable hair for many years, decades for some.

They will not bring back a full head of hair to a scalp already ravaged by many years of male pattern baldness, but they will often improve the situation and slow further decline.

In that respect they do their job.

If self delusion is the crutch you need to get through hair loss, then so be it.

neonman1212 lets not make this personal !!

If you believe the medications are worthless, for whatever reason, what are you doing on this forum ?

Did you try finasteride and/or minoxidil for any length of time ?

I only looked on this forum say... 2 months ago... its amazing how my awareness and knowledge on the topic has increased. I started taking finasteride 3 years ago... didn't know anything about this shed thing, or gyno, or sex drive loss, so i stuck with it... didn't really analyse my hair or sides daily or anything... just took it and that was it.

Looking back i can unquestionably say its helped me out... neonman1212, if your not willing to give it a try... its your loss... alot of us here have and are wreaking the benefits. I dont suddenly have 15 times the density, but looking back i reckon i still have the same amount of hair as 3-4 years ago... so it works!* It up to you mate... i know that taking a pill once a day is piss easy.

* Minoxidil however gave me the shits...

" No they'e not. My 51 year old "dead" follicles are coming back to life. "

I hate to one up you, but my follicles will be 58 next month, and they are springing back to life. Slowly but surely and there has been substantial growth.

My expectations are to acheive full coverage but probably not thick full hair. Using only my present program listed below and just having added Folligen Spray very recently.

Never thought it possible honestly, just decided to take a shot at it.
