Minoxidil and Calcium

I was just at this completely bogus website that was promoting some Chinese product by appearing to be more scientific than other scam sites. It DID include Rogaine and Propecia as scientifically proven treatments, but it also did questionable stuff like list all the side effects without percentage (read Propecia - Side effect: decreased sexual potency without the 2%next to it and I'll bet it scares most people away!) and claim that herbal remedies are better because they have no side effects whatsoever.
ANYWAY. The site says that, recently, people finally found out that the way that Rogaine works is by blocking calcium that goes to the follicles. Not that this is really important for me or anything, but does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
