Ladies-Wigs, Hairpiece Advice Please!

A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Androgenetic Alopecia. I have been using Rogaine 2x daily for over 2 years but it has been no help. My hair is very thin on top and I have a small bald spot at the back of my head where the part begins. I am losing hair on the sides but at a much slower rate than on top.

Last summer I went to a hair/wig specialist to get a clip-on hairpiece. When I went in for the "cut-in", the hairpiece did not look natural down the part-line. Although I had already put down a 50% deposit, I could not walk out of there with that hairpiece on.

I have further shed to the point where I am desparate to do something. I hear a lot of people order wigs and hairpieces online. How do you go about doing that? How do you know what size to get? How do you match hair color? How do you know how to put it on? Do you get synthetic or human hair? I am clueless! I am reluctant to go to a wig/hairpiece shop as I feel very embarassed about my hairloss but that may be what I need to do.

I would really like to know how to start. If anyone else would share their experience and advice with a wig or hairpiece, I would really appreciate it.

You might also try Tricomin Therapy Spray, which when used in conjunction with Rogaine will sometimes return better results.
