My 5 years old daughter is just been diagnosed with Alopecia. She was born quite hairy and in the last 6 months I noticed her hair was thinner. Two weeks ago we saw a bold patch on the top of her hair not bigger than a coin. Her GP told us she has alopecia and prescribed DIPROSONE.
I am quite scared because children are quite cruel at times and I will not like other children pick on her.
Lately, when I take her for a shower she start screaming complaining her head is hurting. She is quite nervous child and wake up crying or screaming every single night. Calm down when she gets on our bed. Lying next to me I hear her teeth on and on. Wondering if this alopecia has something to do with nerves. Please, could anybody give me some advice. I live in the UK and nobody seems to know which specialist I should visit

My daughter calls it her hurting bald spot. She is 3 but tells me to be easy on her hurting bald spot when combing her hair. I suppose her head is tender. Good luck to you.

    Thank you for your replied.
Do you know a product called CALOSOL. I saw in internet and according with their website it is brilliant but I wouldnt buy any medicine through internet unless I know something about it.
Did you have to put any cream on your daughter while the hair was falling out.
    Please let me know.
How is your daughter coping. And you

    Hello,

I just joined as my daughter has a hair problem as well. In response to your question, I was recommened Carosol by a lady whose son had bald patching as well, and it worked for her son.

It hasn't worked for my daughter, but I think her issue isn't bald patches, it's just general lack of growth in her hair. But that's another story...

    Wish you all the best!
