Is Rogaine Working?

Hi All

I've been using Rogaine Foam for five months. At first it seemed to reduce the number of hairs I was losing a day (eg 2-5 hairs in the shower). About four months ago, I seemed to go back to losing the same amount I had been losing before (eg 10-15 hairs in the shower). I do notice some new hairs growing on my hairline, though not tons. Furthermore, over the last month my hairloss has seemed to get much more noticeable.

Based on this information, would anyone have an opinion whether Rogaine is at all working? Does this sound like it might be? Or is it a lost cause for me? I'd really like to know because Im thinking about adding propecia, but would rather not because of the sides.

Thank you very much,
John

Minoxidil is not very good at maintaining hair. It is great at the crown for some reason and starts to struggle in the temples and sometimes the front area. Even if you see growth, it looks like peach fuzz. I call it bum fluff.

Anyway, just because you are applying minoxidil, you will still see hairloss. It does not stop hairloss. It just slows it down.

I suggest you to seek a hair specialist and first see if it is male pattern baldness. If it is, you could try the propecia and minoxidil together. Upto you. However, as people will say - seek a physician first.
