Does Finpecia have the same impact? Does it have to be taken as a whole or can it be cut into half like many of you do with propecia?

Finpecia is the generic alternative to propecia. This means that it contains 1mg of finasteride too, which is the recommended dosage for hairloss. If it is Finpecia made by Cipla and not some kind of concotion that claims to be finpecia, then yes it has the same "impact".

As already mentioned, the recommended dosage for hairloss is 1mg. You are probably mixing propecia(or finpecia) with proscar(or fincar). Proscar contains the same ingredient-finasteride- but five times the quantity or propecia. Some choose to split Proscar in fifths to reduce the cost of treatment.

Eventually everyone is getting 1mg of finasteride, and that is what you should be getting(not more, not less) unless you experience serious sides(not probable). This is the dose that yields high probability for results and minimal for side effects.

So, yes in finpecia's/propecia's case, the pill has to be taken as a whole.
