I still had nice hair a year ago...

Found this pic from my hard drive, it's taken on 2006-07-25. Damn I still had nice hair back then, although I had been losing a lot since the beginning of July (after starting minoxidil). Wish I could ever get back to that state, you can see the thinning mainly in center area of my head but it wasn't that bad back then. And oh yeah, I was holding my sisters newborn baby hence looking down at her.

Rough estimation would be at least 30%. Most was lost around 1-2 months onwards from taking that pic, I was shedding like crazy this time last year. I have to add that my face looked SO MUCH SLIMMER, it's like a different person.

Dude your hair looks really good in that photo. Have you got any photos of your hair from the same angle now? Thought about growing it out again?

Have you seen One Tree Hill? You look like lucas from that in the photo, same hair aswell. In that photo there is no visible thinning at all, not even in the frontal part.

I can't grow it out anymore, it has thinned severely during last year. No I haven't seen that movie(?). Maybe I should :hairy: .

hey man,
is that how you look now in your avatar pic or is that an old one too?

I know many others have said this but I think if you ever need to shave it all off you have an ideal face for it (big no homo)

Yeah that's how I look now. Hmm, maybe I should shave it, it can't be a coincidence when everyone's saying that I got the right face for it.

GHG if I had to bet money I would bet that your hair right now isn't probably as bad as you describe it.

Agreed. I can't believe that, given your treatments, it is significantly worse than the photograph in such a small amount of time. Grow it out.

GHG, hate to say this but you have a definite case of BDD. But just a mild case. But then again everyone on this forum does otherwise no one would care what their hair looks like if they did not. Some just have a more pronounced case of it. My hair has always looked kind of like your photo with longer hair but maybe slightly thicker when I was your close to your age(mid twenties) and it stayed that way for the past 16 years with NO treatments and my dad was bald at 18 years old. I still have about the same amount of hair but slightly thinner due to age. I started reading these posts on these forums and stupidly believed that maybe Rogaine and Propecia would help at least thicken up what I have and just maintain it. Well I guess sometimes its best not to f**k with mother nature because now my hair after using Propecia and Rogaine for almost two years has thinned out more in less than 2 years than the past 16 years when I did nothing. I guess I let my BDD get the best of me.

Great angular profile.

I wish I had masculine features like that.

Nope, it is significantly worse. I've been losing hair all this time, a year can do wonders. I have already explained that I have had scalp pain for the past year so that's a good proof that the finasteride isn't working. Every finasteride success story includes the disappearance of scalp pain.

GHG, I looked at my old pics from exactly 2 yrs ago, I had perfect hair at that time. It's awfuly suprising that hair loss can progress this fast.

Yeah it is, especially diffuse thinning just shocks you. One day your hair is fine, the next you see some miniaturization and from that onwards it's a total mayhem unless the treatments work.

being a diffuser is being with strange waves of emotions. One day your hair is fine, next day is total chaos.

The problem is you will never know if the treaments work unless you keep at them for a relatively long time. (1 yr)
