17 year old here with receding hairline and hair thinning, male pattern baldness most probably, have a strong case of male pattern baldness in my dad side, so probably yes.

Anyway just want to know how did your hairloss felt like, how quick and aggressive was it, did it hurt, any dryness and dandruff, did your hair just fall out without any pain or physical discomfort or anything like that, what age did you experience, etc. just tell us your story man

I want to compare it with mine because for some damn reason, my hairline is really painful and sensitive, especially my temple part (receding there), there are red spots growing on the right side of temple (have acne), maybe its irritated due to breakage and that why there are red spots and bumpy. Hair all over head (except down back of my head) is breaking a lot, I can literally pass my hand through the head or I can grab bunch of hair and pull really gently, and I would pull hair out without any white bulb, and it doesn't hurt at all (maybe there are broken before and i just took it out of my hair). I have a lot of dandruff and dryness and my gp told me the hairloss is due to dryness and dandruff, I want to believe that as well but i think its male pattern baldness and dryness and dandruff is just a coincident, I do have A LOT of dandruff and dryness though, like A LOT. dandruff has decreased but it still there after two days of not washing my hair with prescribed shampoo (capasal therapeutic shampoo).

For some reason, every time i see someone talking about their hairloss, they dont mention anything above, about their fallen hair having no white bulb or hair being really dried and fragile, or tingly sensation and painful hairline.

My hair are so damn weak and painful, its ridiculous, like literally today, I was standing on the traffic light, and there was wind blowing from the right side, and it really hurt my hairline and temple, and i felt my hair breaking (well pulled), so i had to block wind with my hand so i dont feel any more pain, and then i see all other people including a 50+ year old with grey hair who was not even phase by the wind, and i see their hair comfortably blowing in the opposite direction and then i notice how something is wrong with my hair. When the wind stop, I ran my hand through the right side to adjust it, and then I see like 3 or 4 broken hair on my hand. Its just ridiculous.

Just want to know if you experience something similar or not, go ahead, thanks.

Well I am 19 years old in less than a month I will be 20, and I have similar experiance like you, I notice last summer that my hair and my scalp was painfull as hell, my scalp was so painfull that thare were a few nigths when I would wake up in middle of night beacuse of my scalp discomfort, my father is Norwood 6 since his late twenties, so long story short i m now almost 6 months on finasteride and nizoral, I still have some sligth discomfort in my scalp, but my scalp is felling so much healtier and better.

Almost sounds like Seborrheic Dermatitis. You should go into a doctor or specialist and describe your symptoms. But yeah, I had a very itch scalp periodically and red bumps/ irritation after itching it.

I was 16 when i first started to thin on top towards the front left part of scalp, was only noticeable when wet and even then you wouldn't have even thought I was thinning as it was so minor hair was still thick at this point, Then at 17 my hairline started to recede, was only when i shaved my head (used to always shave my head) back in October 2013 that I realized it was really happening and was shocked at the fact my hairline looked odd and awful, I was a hat prisoner until it grew back. And now aged 19 it still continues to thin on the hairline and recede more so on the right side of my temple. It's mainly the thinning that is bad though. My hair will never looke the same again. And will eventually end up bald by 24 because I have fathers genetics.

I haven't experienced any pain though, It's likely something else other than male pattern baldness, I would go to the doctors, As it could be something like dermatitis or some scalp condition.

My story is pretty much identical to dazzel's. First noticed the slight receding hairline, the temple points disappeared then BAM! Heavy thinning from there, with no signs of stopping. Only thing that's different is I had a bad case of folliculitis on my scalp especially the crown area which I think didn't help at all with all my thinning.
