How long after stopping minoxidil until regrowth loss?

Typically how long does it take for the regrown hair start to fall out after stopping minoxidil use? The reason I ask is because I switched from minoxidil liquid to foam about 4 months ago, but within the last two weeks or so, it seems like I've noticed a lot more shedding than usual. Maybe it's just in my head, but I thought it might be possible that the foam is ineffective for me, and 3.5 months after stopping liquid, I'm losing the progress I had made over the last year from using the liquid. Anybody know the timeframe for what I'm talking about? Thanks!

According to my experience, it takes 2-3 months, when the first loses appear.

If I were you, I wouldn't change my successful regime.

Well the reason I changed it was because the liquid minoxidil was irritating my scalp pretty badly. I was getting sores, swelling, ithciness, etc.

According to what is probably the most authoritative study ever done on that subject (the 1999 study by Dr. Vera Price on 2% and 5% topical minoxidil), it took 12 weeks for haircounts to "bottom-out" after stopping its use (that was after 96 weeks of using the stuff normally). Interestingly, the counts actually dropped BELOW those of the placebo users, but then rebounded to close to the same level as the placebo group, after another 12 weeks (which was as long as the study lasted).

Hair weights were a bit slower: they took 18 weeks to "bottom-out", but were back to close to normal again (compared to the placebo group) after another six weeks.
