How do you split a 5mg pill into 1mg portions?

This is gonna be extremely difficult isn't it? Dr Ashcroft has advised me to take 1mg of finasteride daily... from a 5mg tablet. Pill cutter will only do quarters.

This being the reason why most people cut it into quarters and have a slightly elevated dose. Otherwise, yeah you'll have to do your best to cut it into 5 pieces... =p You'll never get the precise dose cutting it this way, it'll make little to no difference.

cutting in fifths would be pretty difficult

thats why alot of us just quarter each pill
with a pill cutter or razor blade etc

Yep use a razor blade or a pill cutter (they are cheap at most drug stores) and do your best. It does not matter if the pieces are exact, just make them as close as possible.
