Hey,

I'm 25 from uk. I'm losing my hair badly but mainly from the left side of my hairline back, my right side is thick as you like thou, bizarre.

About 3 months ago after months of research i decided to give regaine a shot. I chucked it after a month fearing it was making my hair loss accelerate, despite what i read about keeping it going.

I then decided to go for the proscarr route to keep what I've got. I tried and tried to get a hold of Dr Ashcroft, both through the phone number listed here and also the email address, who apparently supplies guys from the uk with a prescription but never once got to talk to him.

I then bought proscar from online (getpharma.com). It came in what looks like a genuine box and the tablets look like the pictures of the real ones i've seen with MSD 72 on on side and PROSCAR on the other.

I totally get the itch and feeling that most people losing their hair get and i've noticed no improvement whatsoever and indeed only more receeding since I started and I'm starting to think I've got fake tablets.

I've even started to use the regaine again, which has sorta helped the itch a bit, but I'm still so anxious and depressed about the whole situation.

Does anyone know how to tell for definate that your tablets are legit? Failing that does anyone know what I should do??

I used to be a confident outgoing guy but this issue has caused me so much distress.

Looking for some advice guys.... Please help....

I don't know of anywhere you can get it tested. I usually get mine from http://www.inhousepharmacy.co.uk/ who I believe offer legit stuff. However, even proper chemists in the UK have been duped into buying fake drugs before. I think the majority of fakes end up in the third world though.

The thing is, finasteride takes a while to start working and in a lot of people it doesn't work at all. Maybe you should see your GP and see if he/she will prescribe it. They will probably fob you off like mine did, but it might be worth getting your hair loss checked out anyway as if it is just falling out on one side it might be alopecia rather than male pattern baldness. My right side is worse than my left but both sides are diffusing, as is my crown.
