first months:
night before transplant:
day of operation:
ok, it's kind of hard to see the grafts but here's some pictures after my transplant
here's one of the scar in the back (donor area)
over all, the procedure was not that bad...the pain was minimal and the look is not as bad as i thought it would be. the doctor and nurses were great and made me feel 100% safe and comfortable
however, the downside to surgery was this:
when they give you local ansthetics(sp?) both in the front and back, it feels like getting a tattoo on your head, yes, painful
it took 8 hours to do 1500 grafts, my body was pretty cramped after
the donor area is pretty sore now (around 3 hours post surgery)
after they make the cut for the donor area, they have to rip it out, not only do you feel the tugs and your skin ripping, but you also hear it, it's so gross
if i get good results from it, i would definitely recommend it to anyone and get another 500-1000 grafts for my crown in a year or so
Day 2 Post up 2:
more pics of the follicles and donor area scar, ive been icing and keeping them moist with a spray bottle, covered with some ceran wrap and a surgeons cap, the line you see across my forehead is where the pain medications was used at, that was probably the most painful part
well, 5 days has passed, the pain is pretty much gone, im still slightly tender around the donor area, but it's not painful at all any more, no pain where the follicles were put in and the scabs are becoming smaller and coming off, i think i'll look pretty normal within a day or so, here's tonights pictures.
