Hair thinned out a lot in the past two months.

Hey guys, I'm new here but I've been lurking around and reading about a lot of hair loss issues.
I pretty much got the jist, and expect to lose hair, but I checked my hair today and I was alarmed at how much I had lost in the past two months or so.

Before May, I had a thick amount of hair all over my head, and even though my hairline went up a bit, I didn't really have this sort of thinning. It's also strange because it's happening in patches throughout my head.
I am a bit worried- the last two months have been pretty stressful with my job not being entirely secure and my parents borrowing a huge amount of money from me (the hair loss worries didn't help), but I'm skeptical thinking that stress could do this much damage to a person's hair (If I'm wrong, please convince me, lol).

I am on 0.5mg finasteride (started recently, Mid June) and I haven't experienced any sides other than lower libido (but that's not even by that much).

I don't have good baseline pictures because I didn't think there was a huge issue before, but I'm genuinely concerned.

Is it accelerated male pattern baldness? Or stress induced Telogen Effluvium?

Sudden hair loss is usually an indicator of an underlying disease or medical issue. Its not typical of male pattern baldness. Especially with diffuse thinning. I have lyme disease and lupus and have lost hair in short time and it grew back rather quickly. I would see a dermatologist as soon as you can to rule out other causes. Many will say everything is male pattern baldness simply by being male. Not all male hair loss is due to male pattern baldness, as much as 40% is caused by other things. Do you take medications at all? Many anti depressants can cause hair loss.
