Hi everyone, I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 5 years ago, although I'm still borderline. In other words my lab results are pretty good. My problem these last 5 years is hair loss. Finally, I found something that worked for me - I started taking amino acids and l-cysteine - my hair loss totally stopped! Great - but there's still a problem, even though the hair loss stopped, my hair is much finer, I see new hairs growing but even these appear finer than they used to be. Now that hair loss has stopped, will new hair growing eventually become thicker over time? Or is it possible that even though the amino acids stopped hair loss I may still have some hormonal imbalance (due to thyroid problem) causing hairs to become finer? really confused....

I forgot to mention that the thinning hair is occurring all over my body, not just my head.. and also I'm 53 years old. thanks!
