Frequent Urination/Urge to urinate since starting avodart monday

Hi all. Started Avodart Monday and since yesterday I noticed that I am urinating more frequently and feel an urge to urniate more more often then I previously did. Also my bladder seems to be getting full much faster then it normally would. No painful urination or anything like that though thankfully. Find this to be quite weird since the original use of avodart is to treat the above mentioned problems not cause them! Just wondering if this is a weird transient side effect that other long term avodart users have experienced since starting the drug? I also am experiencing a loss of libido but I remember hearing about people losing there libido for a couple weeks when starting and then it returning so I'm not too worried about that at this point. Morning wood is still fine tho. I know from using ssris that the libido/erections drop significantly when starting and just about returns to baseline in 4-6 weeks. My major annoyance now is the frequent urination/urge to urinate. Makes no sense!

I have a potential theory, but this is just conjecture, and I am NOT a doctor:

Several people who start finasteride/dutasteride report "ball ache". Last year I took a drug called Fetzima. (It is an SSNI/SSRI). It gave me "ball ache", and I had a near-constant urge to urinate. I went to a urologist, and she found that my bladder was not emptying completely. She became very concerned, and said that my kidneys would fail if this continued.

It turns out that a severe side effect of Fetzima is 'urinary retention'. I stopped the drug, and everything is now great.

You may want to see a urologist just to be on the safe side.

On a side note, you and I are among the most unfortunate group which needs both SSRIs and hairloss drugs, which are both boner-killers.
