For those who style with hair spray. Do you wash your hair before applying minoxidil?

Shampooing and styling in the morning is the only method to give my otherwise thin hair some volume (and mask the loss). If my hair loss wasn't so bad I would definitely shampoo at night, apply minoxidil, wake up the next morning and go about my day. Unfortunately, doing so will guarantee a terrible hair day.

Here is my routine:
I shower and wash my hair in the morning. Blow dry, style and then finish it off with hair spray.

When it comes time to apply minoxidil before bed, do I have to shampoo again to wash off the products or can I simply just wet my scalp?

Here's what I do: morning shower, shampoo (sometimes) + conditioner, dry, wax + hairspray, at night : don't shower, no washing head, apply minoxidil, go to sleep, rinse and repeat.

So then you are only using minoxidil at night? I was thinking whether or not it was possible to apply minoxidil, then blow dry it so it isn't greasy, then style. I haven't tried this and am not sure if it would reduce the effects of the minoxidil.
