Effect Of Lighting On The Crown Area

Hi,

I am 25y old. I was wondering what is the best lighting to observe thinning hair? My crown can look fine under certain light conditions while much worse under other lights. So it gives me a hard time to tell how bad it really is and what other people would see. I went to 2 dermatologists couple of months ago and one told me she did not see clear thinning while the other told me it was early male pattern baldness because there was miniaturisation. I have been on Propecia for 3 months now. I have uploaded five pictures, three of my crown area in different lightings. One picture is bathroom lighting where it does not look that bad, while the other one is in the living room with natural light shining in. The other two pictures are of my hairline.

I am with the Boots Retention programme and they told me I am Norwood 3 class with vertex thinning which I think it quite a severe assessment since my hairline is still ok.

What is the best lighting to observe and to track progress? How bad is it really?

Really? Your hairline looks perfect to me.
Even the crown looks like it is simply the way the hair is parted.
You're on propecia, so even if you are experiencing hair loss, hopefully that should stop things from progressing.
