Early male pattern baldness

I have heard that if you were to start treatment early, you are more likely to maintain/regrow from propecia. Yet I have also heard that propecia is less effective with aggressive male pattern baldness, which most younger men have. So if someone were to start propecia when they were 18 (with hair loss there, but not yet visible e.g. receding hairline with hair to cover up) is it more likely that the hair loss will become too aggressive (if they were supposed to have aggressive hair loss in the future) and propecia will eventually become less effective or would they be more likely to "catch it early" and maintain their hair?

Your question has no certain answer. Biology isn't like math; 1 and 1 doesn't always equal 2.
