Just tried DermMatch today for the first time, my hair is buzzed short to about 3/8 inch. The DermMatch looked good from a distance, but up close in certain lighting it looked like paint. I guess when your hair is short enough and your covering a large area of the scalp it's more noticeable. I tried it because I was under the impression that for short hair it's better than fibers like Toppik.

Mascara does the same trick really. I don't see why paying for dermmatch would be necessary.
Try to blend in with existing hair, not recreate a hairline. I know it's tempting to want to keep going lower and lower on the forehead but don't. Also, buzz the sides of your head short (like 1 guard) to make it blend in better.
